Kwik Fit Highlights Charities' Life Saving Work in Air Ambulance Week 2026

Kevin Thorpe | Monday 7th September 2026 8:00am

  • Air Ambulance Week takes place from 7th-13th September with Kwik Fit set to highlight the essential work of these vital charities.
  • In-centre activity will highlight how funds raised help air ambulance charities provide the specialist equipment, resources, training and operational support their crews need to deliver specialist critical care.

With today, Monday 7 September, marking the start of Air Ambulance Week, Kwik Fit is highlighting the essential work of these vital charities over the next seven days.  The UKs leading automotive servicing and repair company supports Air Ambulances UK through a national charity partnership, raising both awareness and funds.

During Air Ambulance Week, Kwik Fit will be dedicating its in-centre radio station across its entire network to highlight the work of the nations air ambulances.  Content will include interviews with air ambulance staff from across the UK, as well as a conversation with Mike McGrath, the CEO of Air Ambulances UK. In addition to the activity featuring on its own radio station, Kwik Fit will also highlight the Air Ambulance Week message through bespoke content in its ongoing talkSport weather sponsorship.

The radio content will focus on the theme of this years campaign Every mission starts with you to emphasise the important role which everyone can play in supporting the air ambulance operations, from national partners to individual donors.

In-centre activity will highlight how funds raised help air ambulance charities provide the specialist equipment, resources, training and operational support their crews need to deliver specialist critical care. This can include everything from a syringe costing 12p up to a helmet costing over 2,000, as well as the wider operational costs of keeping crews ready to respond.

Kwik Fit carries out fundraising throughout the year with a range of activities.  These include employee activity, customer donations, fundraising at the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship race meetings and the Kwik Fit charity golf day.  This year, the golf day became the biggest single fundraising event for Air Ambulances UK, raising over 100,000.

While Kwik Fits support continues all year round, this week provides an additional focal point in the calendar and the opportunity to recognise the importance of the 21 regional air ambulance charities across the country.  With air ambulances relying almost entirely on donations to carry out their operations, Air Ambulance Week shows that each and every donor is helping to save lives.
